Rudy Joseph Spring was born at 1:05 am on Friday, September 5th. He weighed in at 8 lbs 3 oz and a length of 21 inches (all leg). Elisabeth began having contractions 5 minutes apart at noon and we were checked into the hospital at 4:45 with contractions at 4 minutes apart. At 7:00pm her water was broken and she did a great job before asking for the epirdural at 8:00pm (it took until 8:45pm before it actually took). By 9:00pm she was at 9cm and actually was able to sleep for a few hours before beginning pushing at 12:15am. I actually assisted with the delivery and was able to cut the umbilical cord. An awesome experience! We are super excited (a bit tired) and very much looking forward to sharing our experiences with friends and family.
